Starting Global Language Connections was far from easy. I still remember visiting a bank in our early years and being told—implicitly—that two women of color weren’t "fit" to lead. We were advised to sell the company. That moment could’ve broken us, but it didn’t.
Instead, it fueled our drive. We leaned into our community, built partnerships, and proved them wrong—not with words, but with action. Being a woman and a person of color in business means confronting institutional resistance, but it also means reimagining leadership in ways that are inclusive, empathetic, and impactful.
